We’re thrilled to announce that freshman diver Sammy Petroff has captured the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) State Championship in Girls Diving — a phenomenal achievement in her very first high school season!
Competing at the 2026 OHSAA State Swimming & Diving Championships at C.T. Branin Natatorium, Sammy delivered a standout performance against Ohio’s top divers and earned the highest score in the Division I girls diving finals, bringing home the state title for New Albany.
A Breakthrough Season:
Sammy’s journey to the top was marked by excellence throughout the season. She was the only diver across the state to surpass 500 points during the district meet, scoring 504.15 to win the Division I district title against a competitive field.
Her performance at state showcased both technical precision and mental strength, especially impressive for a freshman competing on the biggest stage in Ohio high school sports.
Proud Moment for New Albany Athletics:
This state championship adds to the proud tradition of Eagles excellence and highlights the strength of our diving program. Sammy’s achievement not only reflects her talent and work ethic but also the supportive coaching and community behind her.
Please join us in congratulating Sammy Petroff on this historic accomplishment. We’re excited to see what she does next as an Eagle!
